Adult Family Living (AFL), CHCPE & PCA Waiver
Connecticut's Adult Family Living program lets a family caregiver receive a tax-free monthly stipend for caring for a qualifying loved one at home. CHCPE (Connecticut Home Care Program for Elders) and the PCA Waiver provide additional in-home care funding for eligible adults.
Who qualifies in Connecticut?
- Care recipient is on Connecticut Medicaid (HUSKY C) or qualifies for CHCPE
- Needs help with activities of daily living
- Caregiver lives with the care recipient (for AFL) or visits regularly (for PCA)
- Spouses cannot serve as the AFL caregiver , adult children, relatives, and friends can
