MI Choice Waiver & Home Help Program
Michigan's Home Help Program (administered by MDHHS) helps eligible Medicaid beneficiaries pay for in-home personal care , including care provided by a family member. The MI Choice Waiver expands those options for older adults and people with disabilities who would otherwise need nursing-facility care.
Who qualifies in Michigan?
- Care recipient is enrolled in Michigan Medicaid
- Needs help with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, mobility, meals)
- Caregivers can be family members, friends, or neighbors
- Spouses and legal guardians: special rules may apply
